Stances Terms of Use

Welcome to Stances. Please read these Terms and the Stances Privacy Policy before registering for or using the Services. By registering, signing in, or continuing to use the Services, you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Services.

1. The Services

  1. Stances provides search, organization, translation, summaries, viewpoint analysis, AI-generated briefs, sharing, and export features based on podcasts, interviews, and other public materials.
  2. The Services may be in testing or continuous development. Available functions, limits, access, and timing are determined by the product as made available.
  3. If paid services are introduced, applicable prices, periods, refunds, and other important terms will be shown before purchase.

2. Accounts and Eligibility

  1. You must have legal capacity appropriate for your use.
  2. Provide accurate information and protect your account. Use the channels provided in the product if your account is lost, stolen, or used unexpectedly.
  3. Do not transfer, rent, or allow unlawful use of your account.

3. AI Output and Risks

  1. AI Output may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or similar to results provided to others. It does not represent a final position of Stances or any person appearing in Source Content.
  2. Output is for research and informational reference only and is not medical, legal, investment, financial, or other professional advice. Verify important matters against original sources and qualified professionals.
  3. Apply human judgement and do not rely solely on AI Output for decisions that materially affect another person’s rights.
  4. Output may include AI-generated or synthetic-content labels. Do not unlawfully remove, alter, or conceal required labels.

4. User Content and Output

  1. You must have the right to submit questions, text, files, feedback, and other content. Do not submit unlawful, infringing, confidential, or unauthorized personal information.
  2. You retain rights you lawfully hold in User Content and grant Stances a limited license necessary to provide, maintain, and improve the relevant Services.
  3. To the extent permitted by law and where rights validly arise, you may use the Output. We do not promise that Output is exclusive, protectable by intellectual-property law, or free of third-party rights.
  4. To improve models and the Services, Stances may, where necessary, use the information in your questions for further model training. Such training does not include personal account information such as your username, email address, password, verification code, or invitation code.

5. Sharing and Export

  1. The system may create a randomly addressed sharing link or snapshot for a brief. Anyone with the link may be able to view, copy, or forward the related question, Output, and sources without signing in.
  2. Do not include passwords, identification documents, health information, financial accounts, trade secrets, or another person’s sensitive information in questions, shared content, or exports.
  3. Stances cannot control copies independently saved, captured, or forwarded by others. You are responsible for downloaded files after export.

6. Stances and Source Content

  1. Stances branding, interfaces, software, model capabilities, layouts, and original content are protected by law. Except for ordinary use of the Services, do not copy, sell, rent, reverse engineer, or use them to build a competing service without permission.
  2. Rights in podcasts, audio, transcripts, cover images, quotations, and other Source Content remain with their respective owners. Organization, translation, or summarization does not change that ownership.

7. Prohibited Conduct

Do not use the Services for unlawful activity, infringement, fraud, harassment, hatred, sexual abuse, or harm to minors. Do not upload malware, attack systems, bypass access controls or limits, scrape content at scale, impersonate others, disclose personal information or trade secrets, or otherwise harm users, third parties, or Stances.

8. Third-Party Services and Privacy

  1. The Services may use third-party AI models, cloud services, authentication, email, content-delivery, and media services. Independently provided services may be governed by their own terms.
  2. Our processing of personal information is described in the Stances Privacy Policy. Accepting these Terms does not waive privacy or other non-waivable rights.

9. Changes, Suspension, and Termination

  1. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Services for security, legal compliance, or product improvement, with reasonable advance notice where practicable.
  2. For violations or material legal or security risks, we may warn, limit, remove content, suspend functions, or terminate an account and provide an opportunity to appeal or receive an explanation as required by law.
  3. You may stop using the Services or request account deletion. Personal information will be handled under the Privacy Policy and applicable law.

10. Responsibility

  1. We take reasonable measures to protect security and stability but do not promise uninterrupted Services or that all Output will be accurate or fit for a particular purpose.
  2. Responsibility for force majeure, reasonable maintenance, changes in Source Content, or third-party events outside our control will be determined under applicable law and each party’s fault.
  3. These Terms do not exclude non-waivable consumer rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability arising from intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or personal injury.

11. Updates and Interpretation

  1. We may update these Terms for legal, functional, or security reasons and provide notice through the product, the website, or another reasonable channel. Where renewed acceptance is legally required, we will request it separately.
  2. To the extent permitted by law, Stances may provide necessary explanations of these Terms and related service rules. An explanation may not unilaterally rewrite the agreement or exclude or limit your statutory rights.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of mainland China. The parties may first try to resolve a dispute through discussion. If it is not resolved, either party may bring proceedings before a court with lawful jurisdiction. Nothing limits your right to complain or report to a consumer organization or competent authority.
